Signature Quilt

Son #2 graduated from college in December with a degree in Electrical Engineering. I decided to make him a signature quilt. Blue has always been his favorite color. I just love the blue and brown for a man.

These are the blues and browns I found in my stash that I intend to use. I really needed some more blue so I had to go shopping.

I do have a fabric addiction so this is what I purchased. I was pleasantly surprised they still had the brown with circles that I am going to use as my focus fabric. I wanted Kona Snow for my signature blocks but they did not have any so I settled for Kona Bone. After I got it home I really did like it.

This is my total palette for the quilt.

It is going to be a very simple quilt so the focus will be the signatures. I saw a picture of the quilt I will be making several places. I drew up a pattern for myself.  Hopefully I will be able to get it started soon.

I too am a quilter since the early 90's. I recently bought some of these same brown and blue fabrics to make a quilt for a friend. I usually have a design in mind before I buy fabric... but couldn't resist these. I'd love to see how you are going to use these fabrics... I need inspiration.
