Marjie's Quilt

This is Marjie's quilt. I quilted it last week. I do not know what took me so long to get the picture posted. I have really been slacking with this blog. Anyway, the border is a design that my sister drew.  She made it for one of her quilts that I quilted for her a few years back. We made it into a pantograph by taping sheets of paper together. I have not used it since and I thought it would be perfect for this quilt. Marjie was very pleased with it. Here is a pic of the entire quilt.

I actually did not do any quilting this week. I have been working on my challenge quilt. The theme is "Water is more than H2O." This quilt is due on June 9th. I hope to have the top finished by Tuesday and then I can quilt it next week. I am very excited about this quilt. I am using things I have never used before, and I am doing things I have never done before. I am really stepping out of my box and it is no much fun. I have been taking pictures to document the steps along the way. I can't wait to show it to you after the voting on the 9th.

Busy Days

Wow! It has been a while since I posted. Life gets busy and I feel like I spend too much time on the computer. Since I last posted a lot has been going on besides quilting.

Last week son #2 came home from college for the summer. Hes is doing an engineering internship. We are so thrilled to have him home. We thought he would not be living at home again. I know this summer will fly by.

For the last couple months we have been spending at lot of weekends house hunting with son #1. He has been looking for a house almost 2 hours from us. Now he has a contract on a house and we went over Saturday during the home inspection.

Last week I did get some quilting done. This is Pat's quilt that I did last week

I have also been working on the challenge quilt for Bayside Quilters. The theme is "Water is more that H2O." I am really excited about it but I can't show it to you until after the voting. The challenge quilts will be presented on June 9th. Above are some of the fabrics I was considering using in that quilt.

New York City Relief

I spent a couple days in New York City with my church youth group. We went with New York City Relief to make soup and serve it to the homeless. What an eye opening experience this was.
On Friday we were in Manhattan. We served soup to about 350 people that day.

On Saturday we were in the Bronx. I actually got up the courage to talk to a few people that day. They really appreciate others caring about them and talking to them.

Look what I saw as we were leaving the Bronx. This bridge railing will make a great quilting pattern. Of course I am always thinking about quilting.

Customer's Quilts

This is Pat's quilt.

Where did the week go? Every day I had to run out for some reason. Even though I quilted each day I did not get a lot done.

Tonight is my opportunity to sew at the 7 Sisters gathering. I am not sure what I will work on. My jacket I started at class 3 weeks ago, my string quilt, or put on a binding. I am torn between the jacket and the binding.

This is Judith's quilt.

Mostly Kaffe

I finished this UFO off of my unfinished tops list. It is not the correct number for April but I got one done. It is made of mostly Kaffe Fassett fabrics but not all of them. I bought all of these fabrics when I went to visit my sister in Washington state last summer.

Birthday Party

Saturday night my daughter had her 13th birthday party. She had 6 friends spend the night. They pulled out many of my quilts to sleep on. They were outside running around until about 11. Because of the bug spray, sweat and dirt, I had to wash all of the quilts they used. Here is the first load I washed hanging on the line.
