Civil War Sampler

This fabulous Civil War Sampler was made by Robin.

I did some custom quilting and each block it treated differently.

I have to say that I am very happy with how it turned out.

This quilt was made for Robin's husband. He was very particular about the batting that was used in it. That quilt is extremely heavy but I know it will definitely keep them warm.

Civil War fabrics are not my favorite but this is a very nice quilt

Doesn't it look great!

Customer Quilts

This quilt is Kisha's.

I know that it is for a Christmas gift.

I just love the encouraging words that she traced onto it and had me quilt.
"You are kind, you are smart, you are important."

This is Barbara's quilt.

This is also a Christmas gift.
It is for her granddaughter.

It is quilted with waves and swirls.

Christmas at Quilt Vine

Yesterday we had our Christmas Open House at Quilt Vine.

We had lots of goodies and gifts on the Sun Porch and Demos upstairs.

I found this angel just in time for Christmas in the shop. My Mother-in-law gave it to me. She said she had this since the first Christmas she was married, so it is 65 years old.

Everything all set up for the demos.

Here I am doing a demo.

We had a pretty good turn out for each demo time.

I love that little Handi Iron.

Faith helps out at the shop on Saturdays and there she is wearing the Infinity Scarf that I demoed.

With the Open House behind me, now it is time to finalize the class schedule for the first quarter of next year.

All Hand Applique'd

Lately it seems like it is difficult to find much time to do any longarm quilting.

This week I did manage to get this Baltimore Album style quilt quilted.

This quilt belongs to Jeannine. I believe it will be going to her daughter.

It is a large quilt; 100 inches square.

Jeannine asked for the oak leaf in the border and I am happy with the result.

She said all of that hand applique only took her about a year.

Snowman Class

We had our first class today at Quilt Vine. It was this adorable little snowman.

Taking this class was a great way to break from Holiday activities and spend the day sewing with friends.

Everyone brought a potluck dish to share at lunch and everything was so yummy.

The snowmen all turned out great and some of the ladies learned some new techniques.

I am really excited now to get our classes up and running in 2013.

Every day is a great day that you can spend with the ladies sewing.

And I really enjoy teaching classes.

Plus, that snowman is so darn cute!
