Wedding Dress

Today is my anniversary. It was 30 years ago today that I walked down the aisle in this beautiful dress.

I crocheted this dress way back then. I used to crochet a lot and money was tight so it seemed like the perfect solution. I remember that the Knit Cro Sheen cost me $33.

It took me about 7 months to make it. I took it with me everywhere I went and worked on it. I spent a lot of time crocheting at Dave's baseball games.

It seems that crocheting is back in vogue. I thought it would be appropriate to display the dress in my shop; especially since it is 30 years old now. The dress really does look so good on this mannequin in the shop.

Until December, I had not crocheted since I started quilting. My daughter is very into scarves so I crocheted her one for Christmas. I could not find a crochet hook and actually had to go out and buy one. Now she wants me to teach her to crochet.

Here we are 30 years ago.

And here we are today. Yes, we have changed a little.

March Mini

The March Mini sample and kits are finally ready. The Robin must have been the early bird because he did catch his worm. Isn't he cute?

It all started with this Snowman. We offered kits back in December for this January Mini. They were so popular that we decided to have a Mini each month.

For February I had trouble finding one that we liked here at Quilt Vine so we came up with our own. We also had trouble deciding on which color way so we made kits for both.

Customer's Quilt

This is Tina's quilt. She made this modern quilt for her modern sewing studio.

The busy blocks did not need special quilting, so I decided on a large all-over swirl.

"SWOON"

Lou made this quilt.

I am absolutely in love with this pattern.

I do not know why I have not made it a point to make this yet.

What do you think? Isn't it fabulous?

"Swoon" is a pattern by Thimble Blossoms.

Maybe I will make one on retreat.

Sewing All Day At Quilt Vine

On Saturday Patti and Lou were sewing at Quilt Vine. Patti was working on this quilt using Salt Water, a great line of fabric by Tula Pink.

When Faith was not waiting on customers she was sewing also.

She wanted to make a scarf or two out of some fabulous Kaffe fabric.

Patti was having a good time sewing at Quilt Vine.

This is the quilt Lou was working on. On the pattern the curved part calls for curved piecing. Lou has never done curved piecing. I came up with an easier way for her to do the fish. I got the idea for it from the 10 Minute Block method.

I also had some time to do some sewing on Saturday. I made these gold fish for a new design that I am working on. I will post all of the pictures when I get it finished.

Quilt Vine Through The Eyes Of Another

Usually all the pictures that are posted here are taken by me. Recently Katie and Faith were in the shop with their cameras taking pictures. Here are their pictures. It is so fun to see Quilt Vine through the eyes of another.
