10-Minute Block

This quilt was made using the 10-Minute Block method.

We will be offering this class in the first quarter of 2013.

This is a very simple method using only 3 straight seams per block. A demo of this method can be seen here.

We carry rick rack in the shop and have not sold much of it yet. Chris recommended that I use some on this quilt. I absolutely love the result!

The fabric used in this quilt is a Free Spirit fabric by Denyse Schmidt and the solid is a Kona.

Customers Quilts

I have been trying to get caught up on my longarm quilting. Both of these quilts were made by Lou. She started both of them in classes that I taught at Bayside Quilters.

This Lightning class I taught in the Spring.

With the swirls quilted in it I think it kind of reminds me of "Starry Night."

I taught this "New Wave" class in September. What a cute baby quilt.

This quilt was made by Lucille. It is another one of the "Wedding Quilts." I have done so many of these now that I didn't even bother to take a picture of the entire quilt. This quilt was first made by Colette. When a customer brings me one they just say, "Quilt it like Colette's."

What's New at Quilt Vine

Wow, it has been way too long since I have posted here. Things at the shop are keeping me busy. We have set up two display areas to showcase our newest arrivals. The top photo is what you will see immediately upon entering the shop.

This new line, Everlasting, from Moda arrived this week.

For all of you Batik lovers, Briar Rose Balis is the other line of fabric that came in this week.

We also got a new mannequin/dress form for displaying wearables.

Here are a few odds and ends that arrived from Westminster.

This line came in a couple of weeks ago but I did not post about it. Chris chose this fabric to make her next class/shop sample. Friday she finished the top. We will be offering this class in the first quarter of next year.

Friday we hit a milestone of 100 Likes on Facebook. To commemorate that achievement we gave away a $25 gift card.

Grand Opening

We had our Grand Opening at Quilt Vine on Friday and Saturday. We had the most perfect weather.

The ladies were lined up on the porch waiting for us to unlock the door.

While I was out front taking pictures, this beautiful arrangement of flowers were delivered to the side door. It was from my son that lives in Ohio. This brought tears to my eyes and to all of the ladies that were helping me.

My daughter waiting for the customers to come in.

The first of the morning customers coming in the door.

This week we hung more quilts through out the shop.

We also decorated for Fall.

Fall is the best season.

The shop looks so good with all of the little touches of Fall.

The Grand Opening was a huge success!

This quilt is from a class I taught at Olde Kent Quilters this past summer.

Trees of Orange

Chris and I set this display up yesterday. The fabric, book and ruler that were used in the making of this quilt are all displayed here.

I finished quilting this one the other day for a shop sample. Chris did most of the piecing with some help from Lou.

I did simple quilting on it just trying to make it look like a windy day.

The pattern is in this book, Strip-Smart Quilts, and this ruler, Creative Grids 90 degree Double-Strip Ruler, was used.

I love how this quilt turned out. The fabric is "Bella" by Lotta Jansdotter for Windham Fabrics

Customer Quilts

This adorable quilt was made by Anna.

The little blocks and triangles were from a 2 inch block exchange. Each one is different.

I do not know where she got that center block pattern with the cat, but I am loving it.

This Christmas Tree quilt was made by Joan.

The Christmas Trees and the pinwheels are 3-D. It really looks great.
