Quilting is My Job

This wedding quilt was made by Sarah. The small blocks are all embroidery. It certainly is a beautiful quilt.

I think sometimes I need to be reminded that I do have a job. It wasn't too long ago I went through a time where I felt like I really needed to get out of the house and be around more people. Lately it seems like I am involved in too much. I had three different things going on today. I needed to decide which activity I was going to attend. When it came down to it I decided to stay home and quilt.

I can't remember the last time I stayed home all day and quilted. It really did feel good. I need to try to find that balance of how much do I stay at home and quilt, and how much do I get out with other people.

My husband called me from work this morning and asked if I would make lunch for him and a friend. I told him no, I am quilting all day. It really did feel good to say no. I think I am going to start saying no more often.

Candy~
Your quilting is beautiful! What an heirloom~
I support you in your thinking~as a long~armer I know I "steal" time whenever I can to get my quilts done with my busy family but the days when I let everyone know I am "quilting all day" helps them to realize that this is my job and I am also at my best that day~ Keep up the great work!

Candy,
Are you giving classes in saying NO? I think I need to brush up on that skill. I have not done anything for my quilting in a month or more. Let me know when you schedule that class.

Laura,
I don't think I am good enough yet to give a class on that!
