Snow Day

Snow Day, the new monthly mini for January is ready. Patterns and kits are available. We will be designing about 10 new monthly minis this year. We will designing the 4 that we used purchased patterns for last year and we will be doing the Holidays this year.

I just love this little guy. This reminds me of my boys when they were little. They both wore a mint green snow suit when they were toddlers and they both loved to sled when we lived in PA.

City Sampler Sew-Along

Ten month sew-along beginning in January. Join us as we sew our way through Tula Pink’s 100 Modern Quilt Blocks. We will meet the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Choose afternoon or evening, depending on your schedule. Book purchase is required. Some fabric will be provided. Sign up early to reserve your spot.

I have fallen way behind in posting, so here are some Show-n-Tell from the past month.

Patti made this top using a great line of fabric we have in stock.

The pattern is free with purchase of the fabric.

Mary made this using Tula Pink's Salt Water.

We will start you on your journey into the joys of quilting! You will learn the correct rotary cutting, piecemaking, basic machine quilting, and binding techniques to make your first quilt. Starburst

For each session of classes I am trying to have at least one class where we can use up some of our scraps.

For this quilt I had my scraps cut into strips. Most of the strips were 1-1/2" and 2-1/2".

I used a 12-1/2" 60 degree triangle ruler to cut the triangles.
 

I am in love with this quilt, so I wanted to do something special with the quilting.

On Intsagram the day I saw Angela Walters doing this swirl and pebble filler and I knew immediately that I  wanted to use that.
 

I am thrilled with the result I achieved.

I am so happy that I used a solid Kona on the back.

I am pretty sure I like the back just as much as the front!

This was not a quick quilt for me. All of the straight line ruler work took a lot of time but the result was well worth the extra effort.

I will be teaching this class in January and February. I will be posting the entire class schedule very soon. If you are interested in taking this class you can call or email the shop.

Quilt Supply Bag Class

 A couple weeks ago Cheryl taught this great bag class. 

It is the perfect bag for taking to retreat or classes. It holds everything you need including a cutting mat, a pressing mat, and all of you rulers (including a 6 x 24).

This was such a popular class that Cheryl will be teaching it again on January 18.
