Harvest Time

I love everything about Fall. I haven't made any Fall quilts the last few years because since opening the shop we seem to spend so much time on Christmas.

I was determined this year that I was going to concentrate on Fall.

I started by ordering Kaffe Fassett fabrics with Fall colors and I had to have the Peppered Cotton in Rust.

When I saw this pattern I knew it was something I wanted to make.

Here are some of the blocks coming together.

The quilt top all pieced.

Showing my quilt top for WIP It Up Saturday.

The quilt top with the leaves fused on.

Stitching on the leaves.

Quilting with the long arm.

I have to tell you I did not do the hand embroidery.
I wanted to do it but I did not want to spend all that time on it. I started doing the hand embroidery, and after 4 hours all I had done was the hat of the scarecrow. I just didn't have time for that. My mom loves hand embroidery and she is very quick at it, so I asked her to do it for me.

The embroidery is done in a dark green variegated Pearl Cotton and it is gorgeous!

Since it is a shop sample I quilted it quickly to get it done. Even though I did not quilt around all of the embroidery it still looks pretty good. I just quilted some windy swirls.
