First One Quilted In The New Shop

It has been a couple of weeks since I posted and I have been busy.

Last week I quilted the first quilt in my new studio at the shop. It is the most pleasant and sunny place to quilt. I absolutely love all of the windows.

This quilt belongs to Jean.

I would definitely call it a "Modern Quilt."

Jean has made this to be used on her bed in the summer.

It has no batting and is backed with flannel.

I quilted it with a simple all-over heart leaf with tendrils.

I believe it is just perfect that the first quilt, quilted here is a "Modern Quilt."

I like all the light in your new quilting room very much! I also like the heart leaf design.
Somewhere I have just an embroidered quilt top that was finished with a bias edging and used as a summer spread--finished by my grandmother before 1932. I sometimes think that even though it's somewhat heavy, now that I machine quilt, I should machine quilt that one so it would last longer and be more usable.
