Round Robin Almost Done

In October 2010 I became part of a Round Robin Bee. We are working on the last round and they are to be exchanged on June 8th. The picture is the border I just put on the one I had. The last round had to have points. Stay tuned next week for the pictures of all of the completed Round Robin Quilt tops.

May UFO is Complete

Over the weekend I spent some time working on my UFO for May.

I finished quilting and binding it yesterday.

Then it was outside for a photo shoot.

In the yellow areas I used Buttercup (soft yellow) thread for the quilting. Everywhere else I used Lime thread.

I love that lime!

I think this top was made in 2006.

The applique is edge turned using freezer paper and glue stick. I appliqued by machine using a blind hem stitch.

I believe this was the first time I used Mono Poly Thread. It is so much nicer than mono filament. 

IT FEELS SO GOOD TO HAVE ANOTHER UFO DONE!!!!!!!!!

I Am Done Blooming

Last night at the 7-Sisters Quilt Guild I finally finished piecing my Blooming 9-Patch.

I love it!

I hope to get it quilted soon since it is busy and will not need real special quilting.

Starting My May UFO

    Here we are near the end of the month again and I have not worked on my UFO. At least my UFO for May only needs to be quilted and  bound. I got the quilt loaded onto my longarm. I really did not have the time to work on it right them but I did take the time to decide how I am going to quilt it. I marked each area with chalk. Now when I get to quilting it, the hard part is already done. I will be able to quilt it in no time without having to think about it.

Customer's Quilt

I have been working on this quilt all week and was determined to get it done before the long weekend.

It is  Heather's very large king-sized quilt. It is so large that I do not have a place to hang it for a good picture.

Heather wanted feathers so I gave her feathers.

I just love quilting feathers!

Show Wrap-Up

The Bayside Quilters first show is over. What a great success it was.

After I posted pictures the other day I realized there were a few things I missed getting a picture of.

So, here is the rest of the show.

I will let you know when I hear what quilt was voted "Viewer's Choice."

Quilt Show Today

Thursday was the opening day for the Bayside Quilters first show in the idyllic setting of Oxford, Maryland. The weather cooperated with us and we had a picture perfect day!

 First thing in the morning Chris and Kris were setting out things made for outreach.

Laura and Elaine were at the admissions table to great our visitors. 

The church where we are holding our show is small so we were limited to the number of quilts that could be displayed.

The entrants were chosen blindly by category and size.

If a member only entered one quilt, it was chosen. If you entered a miniature or a wearable you might have gotten two items in.

Each viewer is given a ballot with admission to vote for their favorite.

After the show 3 places will be awarded for Viewer's Choice.

Out of 70 entries, I had the privilege of quilting about 15 of them.

 The Boutique did a booming business.

June was a very dear friend of Mike's. Mike had started hand quilting this quilt but did not get to finish it. June spent the day relaxing outside working on it.
