Sale at Peggy's
Some of my friends and I went to Centreville yesterday to Peggy's Sewing Center. All of the fabric in the store was on sale. I didn't need any fabric but that did not stop me from making a purchase.
Whenever you go to Peggy's you are sure to be greeted by a friendly smile. Some of the girls in the 7-Sisters Quilt Guild are planning on making a quilt from the pattern Pointless Wonder. That reminded me of the time I first met Peggy. She came to our guild to teach the class using that pattern. It must have been about 1999. I mentioned that was when I met her and she started talking about my quilt from that day. I could not believe she remembered that. Peggy isn't just a quilt shop owner she is a quilter's friend.

Lou is having fun looking over all of the fabric.

Some of the fabric I purchased. Not sure yet what it will be used for.

2010 Quilts that I Finished
Here are my quilts that I finished in 2010. I actually did 2 of the string quilts baby size, so that is 15 completed quilts for the year. I am hoping 2011 will be even better. Counting tops that need quilted I have a total of 20 UFOs that I would like to finish in 2011.
Week 1 2011 Stash Report
This year I have decided to participate in the Stash Report with Judy at Patchwork Times. Each week I will list the fabric I have used and the fabric I purchase. The idea is to use up some of my stash. Yesterday I cut out a queen sized quilt.

Pineapple Quilt Layout
Coming up later in January I will be teaching a class for my 7-Sisters Quilt Guild. We are going to be doing a pineapple block. I am now making a baby size for a sample. I got the blocks finished today. Now I need to decide how I want to set them.
This first picture is the block just set as is.
How about this one with brown sashing and blue cornerstones.
Maybe set on point with alternating blocks. This one I actually like the least.
I like this blue sashing.
This one with blue sashing and brown with blue cornerstones is my daughter's favorite. I think might agree with her. Or do I like the brown sashing with blue cornerstones. I think I will sleep on it.
Pineapple Block
I am going shopping with my kids today to use the gifts cards they got for Christmas. While two of them are here sleeping and one is at work I am sewing.
Late January I am doing a class with my 7-Sisters Quilt Guild. We decided on this pineapple block. I need to get a sample done. I got this one block done yesterday and cut out the fabric for the rest of the blocks.
Time to get back to sewing.
