The fabric that I used and purchased this week was for these 2 quilts. Well, most of the fabric I purchased was for these quilts. I have been trying to stay away from buying fabric without a specific purpose in mind. I went to JoAnn's because I needed White Kona. I bought 6 1/2 yards of white but I also bought 2 yards of Gray Kona. Don't ask me what I am going to use that for yet. I had to buy so much white because I could not find what I had at home. Of course after I bought it I did find mine. It was in with another one of my WIPs. I still did need to get more because I would not have had enough. Now I do have some extra white on hand
This week I used 4 yards of white for my Joseph's Coat. For my Mod Medallions I used 3 1/4 yards of white and 3 1/4 yards of prints.
Used this Week: 10.5 yards
Used year to Date: 14.0 yards
Added this Week: 8.5 yards
Added Year to Date: 8.5 yards
Net Used for 2011: 5.5 yards
I am participating in the stash report at Patchwork Times.
Gray makes a great background fabric. I was in a block swap and one of the blocks requested a gray background (which I would have never thought about) and it was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteAdding white is always a good choice. I bought 3 yards of WOW this week to make sure I didn't run out before my current project is finished.
ReplyDeleteI've just recently discovered that neutrals are something you have to have a lot of. So seems like a smart addition, especially since you are still in the black.
ReplyDeleteOne of the next quilts I am making uses a gray for the background. I can't wait to give it a try.
ReplyDeleteNice!! The colors in the top picture are really pretty.
ReplyDeleteWow, both quilts you are working on are beautiful. I hope one day to try a Joseph's Coat quilt. Numbers are looking good and you can always use Kona White.
ReplyDeleteYour two projects are beautiful! I'm afraid I'm going to have to buy Kona Snow this week. It really is the perfect background fabric as far as I'm concerned! Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful quilt projects. I like that pattern too.
