A Few Days to Spare

My October UFO is complete with time to spare!

This star quilt was started in 2004 when I went to visit my sister in Washington state. While we were there we went to the Sisters Oregon Quilt Show. It was a 6 hour drive and I appliqued when I was not driving. My sister gave me the extra stars and circles from a quilt she was working on. I finished all of the hand applique in 2004 but did not put the top together until 2007 at the Bayside Quilters Ocean City retreat.

So, for 4 long years it has been waiting to be quilted. Thank goodness for Judy and her UFO Challenge. At the beginning of the year I listed 18 projects that were started. What was I thinking? But I will be ecstatic to finish 12 of them.

These blocks are from my sister that I worked on when I was with my her so it is very special to me.

Not all that long ago these are the types of fabric that I was drawn to.

  3. It's a cute quilt and those fabrics seem perfect for it. And I always love a quilt that has its own memories.
